Ruth Chipman

​Ruth is a retired registered nurse and a member of Mensa since 1981. 
She is currently the Mensa events coordinator for ACT, and Proctor.
“Mensa is close to my heart. It was life changing for me to join Mensa, a statement of worth at a critical time.”
Nowadays she attends to her investment interests, enjoys traveling, reading, puzzles and family activities.
She is long time partner with fellow Mensan Graham Cruttenden , the mother of 4, grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 1.

Ronald YU

​Dr. Ronald YU is a postdoctoral fellow in CSIRO Agriculture and Food. My areas of expertise include food and nutrition, plant genetics, and cell development. I aim to improve the nutritional value of wheat and rice by increasing the bran in cereal grain. This is my "BigBran Theory". Please take a look at my pitch below to know more about my research.

Iva Hancevic-Grabic

Iva is selling artist with extensive experience in management in retail and cinema business. She has helped organise conferences of up to 200 people and has provided high quality decorations and arrangements for a jewelry conference.

Christie Hartfiel

Christie is the parent of a young Mensan who is always on the lookout for challenging and engaging activities. She is also involved with the ACT Gifted Families Support Group. Christie runs her own architectural practice, specialising in sustainable, functional and beautiful homes and buildings. In addition to her design qualifications, she is currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology, a hobby which she jokes will help her to better understand and guide her clients and family.

Deborah Wilson

​Deborah joined Mensa in 2017 after moving from WA to Canberra. She enjoys travel, history, animals (especially cats) and talking to people who understand big words. She is in the process of accumulating an aspirational library (she aspires to one day read them all) and can often be found with a glass of wine in her hand.

Members of the event committee will be able to assist with any queries and have participated in the organisation of this event. Interstate volunteers will help us with everything else. Each is either a member of Australian Mensa or a parent of a member. We will have black lanyards so you can find us easily.
